The Halloweenies

You know, when Halloween falls on a Sunday we are so lucky because the kids get invitations for the entire weekend that we get to drive them to :)  They DO have a good time, but seriously...one carnival, two halloween parties, a haunted garage and our own neighborhood trick or treating.  I think someone (me) needs to learn how to say no.

The haunted garage WAS awesome.  Once was enough for Carson (aka Anakin Skywalker)

The giant spiders were much more his style

We got fancy with our pumpkins this year with a bat, a cat and Frankenstein.

Happy 7th bday Kasey!

Can't believe she has lived to see 7 years :)
Had a great party at the gymnastics place with the huge inflatable slide

Then off to a fall festival.  She's atop the hay maze (cheating) her way to the end

Getting buried in the corn pile is always fun
face painting, mini donuts and the pumpkin patch is a great way to end a birthday.
We love you Kasey!!!

Beauty & the Beast ...& the Gypsies

Charlotte and Kasey were in Prarie Fire Theatre's production of Beauty and the Beast on Saturday. It was a week long theatre camp at St. Scholastica. They both were cast as 'Gypsies' and Kasey landed a larger speaking role than Charlotte. This really surprised no one, but one particular family member was really annoyed!

Posing with one of the directors, Jeremy.  The cast consisted of 75 children, ages 7-16!  Posted by Picasa

Carson's 1st soccer game

"I can't wait to get back in there" he said when the coach was rotating players. It was the first time I've seen him get competitive with sports and fun to watch him get excited when he scored a goal. At this age, they play 4 on 4 with no goalie. The coaches are on the field with them to remind them of such things like which goal to try kick the ball into.

I want to be a Lake Girl

We were fortunate to be able to spend a week in the Brainerd Lakes area this summer.  The kids really enjoyed spending time with Uncle Charley and Auntie Trish.  What a great week!

Carson played 'Star Wars - Hot Lava Battle' with his light sabre wherever possible.

Uncle Charlie triumped in the turtle race.  He beat out several preschool and elementary children.

Charlotte and her Creative Dock Jump.  Nice form.

Kasey (aka Perch Whisperer)

The adults did a lot of this...

and this.

We even did some of this...

But Carson was the only one who did this.

I think we are all having a bit of trouble adjusting to being back in our 'real' lives.

Celebrating 41 and 12

Over the weekend I turned 41 and Paul and I celebrated 12 years of marriage.  We spent a couple of days in the beautiful town of Ely, MN.  Better yet...Paul planned the whole weekend and surprised me by having our good friends join us!  (Mom....THANK YOU for babysitting!)

There were definitely comments made about the name of this establishment.

Deer Ridge Resort....Perfectly Peaceful

We sat on the dock for a couple hours and truly enjoyed the sunset.

If you look VERY closely...I was able to catch the heat lightening

Tball - learning how to field the ball

After 3 weeks of tball,  Carson is getting the hang of 'fielding'.  His reaction time needs a bit of work, and the whole 'pig-pile' thing needs to be the topic of an after team meeting I think.  He is #11.

We Love Summer

For anyone following this blog: no comments that it has been 11 months since my last post! Here are a few summer pics:

Carson's PreSchool end of year picnic. Can be traumatic trying to get the three of them together for a picture. Especially when there are creeks to hike, kids to play with and other assorted adventures to be had.

A trip to the Lake Superior Zoo with Friends Gabe, Evy and Ava. Thanks to Joe for getting us a behind the scenes peek at the Polar Bear habitat!

Ready to hit the parade in Michigan. The kids got to go camping with their grandparents for a few days over the 4th of July holiday. 3 kids, 2 grandparents and one chihuahua in the airstream trailer. Priceless.
